Trinidad (tree-nee-DHADH) – A Spanish name that translates to “Holy Trinity” – Trinity meaning “the state of being three”. My translation – The princess who turned a family of two into a family of three.
This gorgeous little munchkin turned one in February and I had the pleasure of capturing her very first birthday party. Mum & Dad, Natalia & Adrian, were gifted a TnT Photography voucher for their baby shower, which was intended to be used once Trini graced us with her presence in a newborn shoot.
Cue COVID-19.
It took a whole year before I had the pleasure of meeting this little cherub, after keeping updated over social media and messages to Natalia – restrictions finally eased enough for us to meet at her first birthday party.
When I arrived, I met Adrian in the car park, Trini arrived soon after in the most adorable dress and with the biggest toothy grin. She soon went down for a nap whilst the festivities started. When Trini woke up, she took in her surroundings, greeted her family and stared straight into the camera – striking pose after pose. Once the cake had been cut, songs had been sung & the drizzle had subsided, I sat down with Trini as she crawled around, exploring the area around her. Below are some of those images.
A last little note from me, something that I feel needs to be shared.
Natalia is from Chile, in South America, we met in college & quickly bonded over the fact that neither of our families were in Australia (amongst other things). To see her on her first child’s first birthday, Face timing her family back home so that they could be a part of the celebrations, brought me to tears. But more so, she inspired me with the immense amount of strength she holds. I can only imagine her longing to have her family near her & her baby girl on this special day. My friend is not only beautiful, inside & out but as strong as they come and I am so grateful to have you in my life.
